Do I need to be a member to be considered for a YPA programme?
Yes, it is necessary to have a Membership to apply to our programmes.
How old do I need to be to be a member?
18-29 years old. You don't need to be in any formal education.
How long is my membership good for?
Your Membership is valid for one year. When your membership is about to expire, we'll contact you to see if you wish to renew. Once your membership expires and you turn 30, you are unable to renew your membership.
How do I apply for a place on the Mentoring Programme?
Register and Apply here. You will need to upload 5-10 of your best images for the application. Submitting an application is no guarantee of acceptance. We are selecting candidates based on the quality of work, the creativity of your possible approach, as well as your location (i.e. the ability for YPA to find and secure mentors in your area).
Once I register, will I automatically be entered for consideration for all YPA programmes?
No, you will need to apply for the programmes you'd like to be considered for. Whenever we launch a new programme, all YPA members will be notified so that you can submit and application for consideration.
Are there any application fees for the Mentoring Programme and Folio Review?
No, once you've paid your £10 membership fee, there are no other application costs associated with applying for any of the YPA programmes.
When does the Mentoring Programme take place?
The six-session Mentoring Programme takes place over the course of 2-3 months, starting in July 2011. Your team will set the meeting times based on your combined schedules. The final project must be completed by 30 September 2011.
I've applied for the Mentoring Programme, when will I find out if I've been accepted?
You will be notified no later than 25 June 2011.
Where do you have mentoring teams?
For the 2011 programme, we'll have two teams in London, one in Cardiff, and one in Glasgow.
When is the Folio Review?
We have not yet set a date for the 2011 Folio Review. All YPA members will be notified via email as soon as we've confirmed the date and are ready to accept applications.
